How we started
Our founder spent 40 years in the home improvement sector arranging loans for the consumer and protecting the contractor by paying them directly once the work had been completed to their customers satisfaction.
This was carried out nationally with the two main lenders being First National Bank PLC and GE Money Home Lending Limited. These solutions were on a secured loan and re-mortgage basis with the home improvement part paid direct to the contractor.
The niche was financing consumers who had existing credit on the go consolidating loans and restructuring into one affordable monthly payment including the new home improvement project and less than the customer was currently paying.
Job Sold…..
So, as an example the new £18,000 conservatory which was £340/month unsecured and declined by the Lender on affordability became a reality for not only the consumer but business for the contractor, a win-win solution all round. Otherwise, both parties lost out.
So, Consumer Advisory was born. The poacher has turned to gamekeeper so to speak.
